Education Home Education: Foreign Research Experience

Nano-CEMMS has partnered with foreign institutions to develop international cooperative research programs in nanomanufacturing.  Each year Nano-CEMMS funds up to five graduate students to spend time at research institutions in Asia (Singapore and Korea) and Europe (Netherlands).  The program for foreign training is centered on key elements of Nano-CEMMS research and builds on existing relationships that Nano-CEMMS faculty members have with foreign institutions.

In Singapore the Center is developing a cluster relationship that centers around three A-STAR (Agency for Science Technology and Research) institutes, the Institute for High Performance Computation, the Singapore Institute for Manufacturing Technology, and the Nanyang Technological University.

In Korea, collaborative research efforts have been established with two leading universities, Seoul National University and Yonsei University. The focus of our collaboration with the Korean Institutes is on micro- and nano-fabrication processes.

In France collaborations have been developed with the Service de Physique et Chimie des Surfaces et des Interfaces (SPCSI).

In the Netherlands our collaborations are with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University.
