Facilities: Stanford

Professor Quake operates the Stanford Microfluidics Foundary, a newly built facility in the Department of Bioengineering. His lab has pioneered microfluidic large scale integration and has become the main service provider Multilayer Soft Lithography (MSL), also known as "labs on a chip." Servicing the academic community at Stanford and beyond, the foundary allows academic researchers from a variety of fields to integrate microfluidics into their research by providing integrated microfluidic devices. This provides the capability to fabricate masks, molds used for soft lithography, and chips. The Foundary also provides consulting services on microfluidic design and testing of MSL chips, including part lists and directions for making low cost computer-controlled microvalve controllers.
