Graduate Student Group

The Nano-CEMMS Graduate Student Group serves to enrich the student experience, to promote collaboration among the various research projects, and to provide professional development opportunities. All graduate students who are funded by the Center are automatically members and are expected to attend the group’s events.  Graduate students who are otherwise affiliated with the Center can also become members. A Graduate Student Leadership Council works with the students to plan meetings and events for the group, and Nano-CEMMS administrative staff handles logistics.

The Group meets monthly for lunch and a planned program. Research presentations by students and faculty offer a broad perspective of the Center’s mission and activities. Professional development topics range from effective communication to current industry trends in nanomanufacturing. The meetings also provide a forum for small group discussions and informal collaboration among the various Nano-CEMMS disciplines and projects.

The Group plays an active role in planning and executing poster sessions and presentations for NSF site visits, Industrial Advisory meetings, and the College of Engineering Innovation Leadership Advisory Board meetings. Graduate students also play a vital role in the education programs for undergraduates, middle and high school students, and teachers.

If you would like to be placed on the group’s mailing list to receive notification about future meetings, please sign up for our Graduate Student mailing list using the fields below.
