  • 3-Dimensional Patterning with Electrochemistry: Design and Operation

    Printing with electrochemistry is based on electrolysis. The small nozzle and the surface tension in the liquid bridge combine to modulate the size of the nanowires built using this process.

    The photographs below show the set-up for pulling nanowires and an example of the type of wires produced. The figure on the right shows a 100 nm platinum wire 30 microns long. Typical rates for pulling such wires are in the range of 3 to 10 microns per second.
